After a recent performance in the AG studio, Chris Robinson Brotherhood guitarists Chris Robinson and Neal Casal shared quick histories of the instruments they used on the band’s latest release, Barefoot in the Head.

In this video, Robinson tells the story of his cherished 1959 Martin D-18, which he purchased in Hollywood in the early ’90s and has been his go-to songwriting guitar ever since.

Later in the clip, CRB lead guitarist Neal Casal recalls the moment he realized that resistance was futile and that he couldn’t not buy the 1952 Gibson SJ he encountered in a Philadelphia music store.
