Acoustic Guitar Sessions Presents Trigger Hippy
Trigger happy? Apparently that’s what I was when I sat down with Joan Osborne and Jackie Greene of Trigger Hippy recently at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, California.
Right out of the gate, I misfired, mangling their band’s name and getting a proper stankeye from Osborne. (Look for it about 20 seconds in.)

There were no misfires, however, when Greene picked up his Gibson J-45 and began playing and harmonizing with Osborne on “Rise Up Singing,” one of the more stellar tracks on Trigger Hippy’s self-titled debut, released on Rounder Records back in September.
Trigger Hippy is a jam-band supergroup of sorts, with original and current members hailing from bands ranging from the Black Crowes and Widespread Panic to the granddaddies of jam, the Dead. Find out more about Trigger Hippy and watch them perform “Rise Up Singing” and another track from the album, “Pretty Mess.”
