Acoustic Guitar Sessions Presents Jeffrey Foucault

The songs of Jeffrey Foucault display an earnest, though often tender, Midwestern sensibility.

During the past 15 years, this Whitewater, Wisconsin, country-folk troubadour has recorded a handful of critically acclaimed albums spotlighting his carefully crafted original songs.

NPR once praised him for possessing the ability to “find beauty in small towns and simple truths.”

And that about sums him up.

On his 2015 album Salt as Wolves, Foucault joined electric guitarist and longtime Greg Brown collaborator Bo Ramsey and percussionist Billy Conway of Morphine on several tracks in a band setting.

But his solo-acoustic work is captivating.

Recently, Foucault, with his 1947 Gibson J-45—and Conway—visited the Acoustic Guitar Sessions studio to perform “Blues for Jesse Mae,” “Pretty Hands,” and “Heart to the Husk.”
