I have wax polish on my guitar. It came this way and I have to get the build up removed. I have an orbital sander but not a buffing pad. Any other ideas?

Thank you. One question, are any changes required as a result of differing fretboard materials. Rosewood, Ebony or Maple?

NEVER use furniture polish on a Guitar. The finish on your guitar is made of different compounds than your furniture, and furniture polish will damage your guitar finish. Go to your local guitar store and buy a bottle of guitar polish. A small bottle of guitar polish will last years….

Boiled linseed oil or MusicNomad fretboard oil.

On some extreme cases of “fingercheese” as I call it, I’ve used a wire brush going with the grain of the board, but not on maple or lacquered boards. This does require a bit more elbow grease to polish the frets, but it gets the gross out of the deep grains and the finished oiled board looks like a totally different instrument.

I have used Flitz also and love it. For just a polish, Brasso does a good jab.
